“Common sense shows that human life is short-lived and that it is best to make of our brief sojourn on this Earth something that is useful to oneself and others.” (His Holiness the Dalai Lama)

it’s sunday! let’s talk about religion…
Standardpiety – devotion – holiness – belief in a divine power – worship – involving a code of ethics and a philosophy –
state of mind or way of life expressing love for and trust in a divine power –
one’s will and effort to act accordingly
Now that’s a really basic, abbreviated definition of religion. I purposely kept specific denominations, people, prophets, leaders and texts out of it. However, NOWHERE in that definition did I see the words…
judgment, hate, intolerance, uncompassionate, discriminate or close-minded
So…Here’s my question.
If the ACTUAL definition of religion does NOT include the words…
judgment, hate, intolerance, uncompassionate, discriminate or close-minded,
then why do SO MANY people use…
judgment, hatred, intolerance, lack of compassion, discrimination or close-mindedness…
AGAINST others?
All in the name of religion?
Really?!
